How to lose baby weight after pregnancy fast… in 3 weeks!

Losing weight after pregnancy fast is a dream for most of new moms. Bethenny Frankel of Real Housewives of New York has quickly dropped 29 of her 35 pounds of baby weight… in 3 weeks after giving birth to daughter Bryn! Then the media hype over Bethenny Frankel’s rapid weight loss after baby has sparked debate over weight loss issues, including dieting vs non-dieting, crash diets, rapid weight loss. Professionals warn: Official words on how Bethenny shed the pounds are really open to question.

According to several expert opinions, despite Bethenny attributing her rapid weight loss to yoga exercises, walking 45 minutes a day three times a week, portion control, and C-Section induced fasting, her slim down may be unhealthy and potentially dangerous to those women who can not afford what celebrities invest in to lose weight.

Bethenny defends herself saying that her message is not really an unrealistic one to be sending, because she’s been healthy before, during and after her pregnancy and if she gained 80 lbs. and expect to come back, well that’s unrealistic. According to her theory (not a surprise one), women who gain 60 to 70 pounds… they are eating like a maniac because they think pregnancy is a license to of off the rails!

Pregnancy should not be an excuse to overeat… or to binge! And, post-pregnancy you are supposed to lose weight.

Having a baby is a wonderful event, but average woman wonders if her body will ever return to normal after having changed so drastically during the pregnancy. The truth is, no. Your body will always be slightly different, perhaps the hips are wider, the breasts saggier, it all depends on the person. However, there is no need to continue carrying around baby pounds for years after the birth! A healthy weight loss is possible for every mother with a bit of patience and time and the right techniques.

I have to confess one thing. A few years back I would have thought that her quick weight loss was horrible, but I have had my baby and lost all of the baby weight (all those weird pounds covering my body) plus some additional pounds in only a few weeks. So when I’ve read Bethenny Frankel weight loss story for the first time, I thought it was not that big of a deal. I’m not a celebrity but been there done that (special thanks to FitYummyMummy).

Actually a new mom’s body has several natural weight loss methods, like breastfeeding. All you need to do is to encourage your body to lose the weight. Most of those new moms who can not achieve postpartum weight loss are being misguided. Your body is supposed to burn the excess fat, especially in times like post pregnancy. So, stop all the excuses like not being able to find the time for 90-minute cardio sessions in your local gym. Noone expects you to do all of the ‘impossible’ work. Again… you just need to encourage your body to do its work.

Here are a few tips to move you in the direction of postpartum weight loss.

If you can manage to breastfeed even for the first three months, you will experience far faster weight loss than if you bottle feed right from the start. The baby is taking nutrients that your body has stored up in the form of fat cells, thus depleting the fat cells and returning your body to its original shape more or less.

Here’s some sweet science: Breastfeeding stimulates uterine contractions and the uterus will shrink back to its pre-baby size much faster, which helps with that extra tummy bulge.

Getting a good night’s sleep might seem impossible during those first few nights, but if you can manage to nap with the baby and try to stay well rested, you will be able to lose weight faster as well. This might mean leaving some of the housework for later or asking for help, but it is very important that you have enough sleep so your body can recuperate and get back to its regular metabolism faster.

Eating a healthy diet is important not only for you, but also for the baby. Instead of splurging on fast food and sweets just because you are too tired to cook, look for healthy alternatives. A chicken breast or two sprinkled with some parmesan cheese doesn’t take much time to cook up, even if you are dead on your feet.

Showing off your new infant is the perfect excuse to get some exercise and promote weight loss.

Get out with the baby in a front carrier or sling and go for a walk every day. Invent errands if you like, the point is to get out of the house and to enjoy taking a little exercise with your child. The walking will help return your body to its pre-baby state faster as well.

A complete weight loss is not going to happen overnight. You do need to take your time to recover, and give your body the nutrients and rest it needs. Then the weight loss will happen ‘almost’ on its own! You can always get professional help when needed, not only in the form of expensive training sessions, personal nutritionists etc. You can find cheaper and even better ways for your new lifestyle. For example, you can always invest in some ebooks, online programs, home workout DVDs. (I suggest you to take a look at FitYummyMummy, which helped me burn my baby fat. It’s one of the best special weight loss plans meant for moms.).

Bethenny Frankel’s rapid weight loss after pregnancy will continue being sticky on news for a while. Like Andy Cohen, producer of Bethenny’s new reality show Bethenny Getting Married, said “If she’s not going to lose the weight, I don’t know who is!”

What do you think about Bethenny’s rapid postpartum weight loss? Does it send the wrong message? Or … ?

Update: I’ve been receiving more and more questions about 50 Cent weight loss, liquid diets, and workout routines. Many people also keep asking me what diet and workout plans I’ve been following. So I’ve decided to add a quick list and some notes regarding some of the fat loss programs I can recommend without any hesitation. See the end of this article.

Skinny 50 Cent photos …

Am I the only one who thinks he is not only skinny, but also scary?

50-Cent-diet

50 Cent has really shocked me (and millions of others) by posting his skeletal images on his Twitter account and website. He lost 54 pounds, dropping to 160 from 214 pounds, in 9 weeks and he also lost six inches from his waist.

“I lost 54lb for it. I was starving.”

50 Cent

Without going into dull details of why he would have wanted to do this to himself, let me inform you that no, he is not doing drugs and no, he is not suffering from some deadly sickness. 50 Cent dropped lots of pounds in a short amount of time and it’s all for a movie role. In an upcoming movie called Things Fall Apart, 50 plays a cancer patient. Not everything in life have to be personal, but this time he is taking this highly seriously because the movie is inspired by the real story of 50’s one friend who died of cancer. So, 50 looks scary and horrible, as that’s the point.

Respect to 50 Cent since he is (over)doing this for artistic purposes and as a memorial to his late friend, but his weight loss methods sound a bit… dangerous. Losing that much of weight, in 9 weeks, by liquid dieting and walking daily on a treadmill for up to three hours? (Need a doctor?). I have no doubt that he will put the pounds back on and get his muscular body back soon. He’s got all the (expensive?) tools that can help him get in shape in no time. (According to news reports, he had already gained back more than 40 pounds.)

It is no secret that weight loss methods that celebrities use often result in fad diets. Sometimes these diets work and sometimes don’t. We’ve been alerted and adviced by medical experts that some of these fad diets are deadly dangerous that they should not be tried at home. In 50 Cent’s case, experts repeat the advice as they think his case is the extreme and his diet methods should be avoided.

50-cent-weight-loss

Losing over 50 pounds in 9 weeks is possible if you set your goals right and take action. Nothing is impossible for us human beings, right? But remember this golden rule: Just because you can does not mean you should! You want to get in shape, look hot and sexy, be a healthy role model. That’s your main weight loss goal in the first place. You are not preparing for a movie role, aiming for Oscar.

Before deciding what weight loss methods you’ll follow, make sure that it is going to produce a long last result. A balanced diet and moderate regular exercise may take time to get you the figure you wanted, but it will gently get you toned up, and keep the weight off for good. When you follow a crash diet plan which is paired with an extreme exercise routine, there appears to be a rapid weight loss, creating an illusion that the plan is working properly. At this point, no fat has been lost; what happened is that the body’s limited store of glycogen, a form of carbohydrate, is used up. As glycogen is utilized, the body loses water with it, so there appears to be a rapid weight loss.

Liquid diets are mainly for spesific health issues, not for weight loss. There are several liquid diet types and the classic one would tell you to have two meals a day with a shake or drink and the third should be a nutrient rich meal. Most liquid diets are very low in calories – like 1200 calories per day. Liquid diets attract people because these allow them have a sweet drink, also very little meal planning is involved and in the first few days, weight can be lost quickly. The main problem is these diets do not teach people healthy eating habits and do not provide a maintenance plan. Once you return to eating solid foods, weight is likely to return. In addition, these drinks do not contain phytochemicals, which have natural disease prevention properties and are found in foods.

50-Cent-liquid-diet

Think about it – when making major dietary changes, you want to get the most out of your calories. Wouldn’t you rather fill up, rather than drink something and be hungry again soon after? Use liquids to pimp your diet plan, do not plan your diet around them (unless it’s recommended by a personal trainer or a medical advisor who monitors your system religiously).

My final thoughts… It was really shocking to see skinny 50 Cent photos all over the place – at first, I confused him with Dave Chappelle… But it was even more shocking to get asked by so many people where they could find the liquid diet 50 Cent used to lose all these weight! I repeat it again… You want to get in shape, look hot and sexy, be a healthy role model. You do not want to feel dizzy, tired, and fatigued or look sick! Eat smart, move smart and you’ll get better (long-term) results.

It’s just a few weeks before your prom night. You are planning to look hot and sexy in your prom dress. Well, everyone wants to look their best that night! But a few will be victorious…

Here’s the bitter truth: Most of us today have excess body fat, around belly area or hips or arms and legs… Where the extra fat is stored on your body does not matter. Excess body fat is your enemy and you should destroy it before it destroys your special moments in life, like your prom night!

You deserve to be fitter, happier, healthier,

more popular at the rest of your life…

especially at special times like your prom night.

You want to lose weight before prom, you should start making small (or sometimes big) changes in your eating style and daily activities right now. It’s just a few weeks ahead and you should make the best of these to lose weight and get into shape quickly.

It’s too bad, fashionable prom dresses

do not come in plus sizes!

There is ‘almost’ no difference from any other weight loss, except the time is quite limited. When it comes to weight loss, doing simple little things to improve your eating habits or physical activities can be your best bet most of the times. But now that the time is limited and you want to lose weight “really” fast, you will need a few more simple and quicker tricks.

Actually, you can achieve rapid weight loss using REAL foods you eat every day! You don’t count calories, you don’t limit food portions, and you don’t have to purchase special foods and supplements. All you need to have is commitment and if you have it, just go to Fat Loss 4 Idiots page. You’ll learn how you can shed 9 pounds in 11 days!

Do not forget this classic never: Combine diet and exercise! This and some extra weight loss tricks are all you’ll ever need. Here are some:

In order to lose weight quickly for prom, you should avoid eating junk food. That’s always the rule no.1! Common sense can tell you that French fries are a no-no and an apple is good. But it doesn’t stop here. It’s hard to cover all of the foods that are acceptable to eat when you are trying to lose weight. This could be a long list and hard to follow for you in these busy days. Start with changing the foods you snack on. (Yes, you can snack and still lose weight). Now click the links below and read our big lists of snack foods. You’ll get the idea! Do not forget to take notes of celebrity diet tricks you’ll find in these articles. Then come back to this page as we have more and more weight loss tips for you.

Healthy Snack Ideas and Celebrity Diet Tips

Healthy Snacks for Weight Loss

Junk food such as potato chips, ice cream and sugarful drinks are not nutritious at all and they have lots of calories. Ask yourself this question: What would you lose if you don’t consume ketchup, mayonaisse, mustard and any other dressings like these? They have ‘bad’ fats and they can make you fat in no time!

Here’s a simple and quick tip for you: Drink some green tea, ideally 3 or 4 cups a day, to speed up your metabolism. This will boost your energy also, and you will feel less stressed. For more on weight loss benefits of green tea, read Green Tea As A Natural Fat Burner article. Doing so, you’ll learn how green tea can help you lose weight fast just before your prom.

Is that darn dress still a size or two

too small?

You deserve to be fitter, happier, healthier, more popular at the rest of your life… especially at special times like your prom night.

To lose weight quickly, many people starve themselves. You don’t eat, you don’t gain weight. Sounds easy but oh well, this is ridiculous. You don’t eat, your body doesn’t function properly because you shut down your metabolism and you will be sabotaging your own weight loss efforts.

Starvation diets are there only to get you cranky when you think of food, and to make you sick. For a successful weight loss, you need to increase your energy level, speed up your metabolism so you can burn more calories. See what is silly about starvation methods? If you starve yourself your energy and metabolism levels decrease and as a result you’ll burn less and less calories.

One neat weight loss trick would tell you to eat the foods that trigger the fat burning hormones in your body. Some foods do release fat burning hormones into your blood and that’s the way you are actually controlling the fat burning process of your body. If you do this right, you can drop 5 pounds a week! (John Romaniello – New York based trainer, coach, exercise innovator, author, fitness model and Final Phase Fat Loss creator phew! - explains how our hormones dominate our physique in this article).

Don’t skip meals. Instead of 3 big meals in a day, eat 5 small meals throughout the day. This is one of the best ways to lose weight. Smaller meal services are easier for your body to digest and this helps your body burn the calories faster.

Drink 8 -10 glasses of water in a day. Water is a natural appetite suppressant. Don’t drink water and you’ll get fat. Read our 7 Reasons To Why Drinking Water article and learn the rest of the story:

  • Why you will get fat if you resist to consume water

  • How top celebrities use this powerful weapon called water to stay fit and hot.

Here are a few tips to help you remember to drink the water you need, and to make it a little more interesting or pleasant: 11 Tips to Improve Your Water Intake (So You Can Lose Weight)

(These 11 tips alone can help you lose weight quickly and get fit days before your prom. So do not miss these!)

Finally, like it or not, you need to ‘move it’ to drop those pounds. You need to exercise! People who are sedentary only burn two thirds of the calories that active people do in the same period of time. A vast difference can be made in your daily caloric burn by making the most of each opportunity to move.

Even simple moves add up

The simple moves that may have been called fidgeting when you were in school, not only help to keep joints and muscles loose, but also help to increase metabolism and caloric burn. Try to stand more, tap your toes to the music, walk further on purpose or simply wiggle. The idea is the more you can move even while seated at your computer increase you metabolism.

Doing the right exercises help you drop those extra pounds as quick as possible. Some exercises can even help to increase your metabolism rate for up to 48 hours.

In order to effectively burn extra body fat in a short time, you should have commitment. Losing weight is not difficult but you should be determined. If you’re half-hearted, you will not succeed in losing weight. Try to focus yourself on achieving your goal.

Super veggies that aid weight loss

You’ve already heard that greens can really help you lose weight but you are a bit confused about this one, because you don’t see how they can help you burn the fat. Greens are great natural diuretics. What this means is that they help to accelerate the flow of water out of your body preventing your body from retaining water and creating that bloated look.

Greens including spinach, kale, lettuce, parsley, beet greens and water sprouts are all rich in the mineral potassium which prevents water retention by your body and encourages it to flush fluids and impurities from within.

Cucumber and asparagus are among the best greens for weight loss. Cucumbers are nearly 90% water and this will keep the body flushing fluids and feeling full. Try to consume them whenever you can. You may use them in your salads or on their own as a great snack. Asparagus is by far one of the best natural diuretic foods out there, it is recommended that you eat lots of it. Just a serving or two a day minimum will do your body wonders.

Greens are not only great weight loss agents but they are also better known for their many health promoting benefits. They are rich in vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and fibre.

Even though people do not like to eat their greens, they are an important part of an effective, safe and healthy weight loss program and to good health.

How Can Salads Make You Fat?

We have been told that eating salads is good for us. However if you go to fast food places, you maybe better off getting a burger than a salad. On the surface of it a salad looks great, but if it suddenly has crumpled bacon, grated cheese and then you take all that salad dressing and pour on top of it. You can actually get more calories and more fat from the salad, than from just an ordinary burger.

Try our easy-to-prepare, low calorie, filling, quick and healthy salad recipes with easy-to-find ingredients. Click here

You are encouraged to find ways to spice up your salads and vegetables when you serve them so you do not get bored of them. But you should be aware of all the goods and bads. You should know what to eat and where.

Eating the right food is important but so is…

  • when

  • where

  • how often

To make your vegetables and salads rich you can sprinkle a little lemon and herbs spices or even some fresh lemon and lime juice. You can also try many other different healthy cooking methods such as steaming to lightly cooked vegetables like broccoli and kale.

There are several ‘right’ vegetables you can eat as many as you want how many times you want it and not gain a pound. Not all the salads and vegetables can help you lose weight and keep you slim. This is because there are vegetables that are high in calories while there are also those which are low in calories.

What are these low calorie vegetables? What vegetables are low in carbs? What types of vegetables should be included in your diet? Click here to learn

Some types of vegetables are considered to have low calories and these are great to eat if you are dieting or you want to lose weight. These include carrots, cucumbers, radishes, fresh green beans, celery, cauliflower, cabbage, cherry tomatoes, mushrooms, and lettuce. It is clear that you don’t have to go all green when you’re on a vegetable diet. Look at all the choices you can gather for yourself! These are not only containing the least calories, they are also packed with essential nutrients as well.

how-to-lose-weightDo I need to be more specific? You probably heard that for those who are on a low carb diet munching on vegetables is the way to go. However, just as there are vegetables that contain low and high calories, there are also vegetables that are low and high in carbohydrates. Do not generalize that just because they are vegetables they are immediately low in carbohydrates.

Vegetables that are low in carbohydrates include but are not limited to:

  • Sprouts

  • Leafy greens

  • Hearty greens

  • Herbs

  • Sea vegetables

  • Broccoli

  • Mushrooms

  • Avocado

  • Peppers

  • Summer squash

  • Scallions

  • Asparagus

  • Bamboo shoots

  • Leeks

  • Eggplants

  • Artichoke hearts

  • Okra

…and more.

Of course, low calorie vegetables are also low in carbs so you can take your pick.

To be cautious, here’s some of the vegetables that are starchy and are high in carbohydrates. These include beets, corn, parsnips, peas, all types of potatoes, and winter squashes.

Other types of vegetables that should be included in your diet are the ones which are full of fiber. But hey don’t be confused by this statement. Though vegetables in general are good sources of fiber, there are certain types of vegetables that contain more fiber than others. Examples of these rich in fiber vegetables include brussel sprouts, carrots, cooked beans and peas, and spinach. Cruciferous vegetables are also good sources of fiber such as cabbage, broccoli, and cauliflower.

These vegetables are good sources of soluble fiber, which helps keep you feeling full and therefore makes it easier for you to resist eating too much food.

Generally, vegetables are not harmful to your weight loss efforts if you are on a diet. Again, keeping a few tips in mind to be careful is always better. You might have lost weight but you got sick in the process so what’s good in that? Here are a few tips:

  • When you pick out vegetables, try to go to the organic produce section.

  • If you can’t get hold of organically grown products then wash your vegetables thoroughly.

  • Remember that, vegetables that are not organically grown contain pesticides which are harmful to your health.

  • When you are picking out vegetables, choose the freshest among the lot. You can tell when it’s fresh if it’s brightly colored and are blemish-free or has the least amount of blemishes.

  • In-season vegetables are guaranteed to be fresh so buying vegetables growing in their season is a good idea.

  • You shouldn’t plan on storing vegetables for too long. Buy only the vegetables you plan to be eating in a few days. Other than that you should discard vegetables that have been stored too long.

  • When you eat vegetables, try to leave as much edible skin on them as possible. The skin on vegetables contains their own nutrients which can benefit your health.

  • Eating vegetables raw is also a good idea as cooking them can take away some of the nutrients and add fat from the oil you used.

Vegetables are great, quick and cheap alternatives to fatty foods that bring on the ounces on your weighing scale. Veggies are low in fat, cholesterol, sodium and calories naturally, so they have been advocated to dieters since the beginning of time.

Benefits of drinking water are almost endless. Why drinking water is important for weight loss is a popular topic. If you eat and exercise right but still can not lose weight, it’s probably because you don’t drink enough water to support your efforts. According to several surveys and university studies, many people admit that they do not remember to drink water through a day if they don’t feel like thirsty so they don’t achieve the ideal amount of water they should be consuming daily. Do you recognize yourself in this?

Water is the best supplement ever known to mankind. You already know that it’s important to drink enough water. Topics such as what amount of water is considered enough, how much water you should drink in a day, why drinking water is important to your health and beauty are all explained in a previous article. Please read 7 Reasons To Why Drinking Water, click here. In 7 Reasons To Why Drinking Water article, you will also get answers to these popular questions:

  • Why you will get fat if you resist to consume water

  • How top celebrities use this powerful weapon called water to stay fit and hot

In this article, I will try to make it easier for you and give you quick tips to help you improve your daily water intake.

Water aids in digestion of food. A stomach filled with water needs less food to feel satisfied.

Remember that a minimum of eight glasses of water in a day is recommended. You should aim for more if it is really hot, or you are physically active -e.g. working out- and sweating a lot.

Here are some of the early signs of dehydration:

  • Increased thirst

  • Dry mouth

  • Sticky saliva

  • Reduced urine output

  • Dark yellow urine

  • Lack of enegry

  • Headache

None of these sound very fun, right? If you get dehydrated, you’ll feel like you are in hell and you will get fat also (like explained in the
7 Reasons To Why Drinking Water article).

I understand it is hard sometimes to drink that much -eight glasses per day- water, especially when sodas and coffee tempt you. However, for a healthier and fitter you, to feel better and enjoy your ’sexy’ self, you should strive to drink those glasses of water a day.

Here are a few tips to help you remember to drink the water you need, and to make it a little more interesting or pleasant.

1

Always carry a bottle of water with you at all times. It is absolutely much easier to drink water when you have it readily available. In the car, at work, while running errands, in the yard, and even while you are working around the house… You’ll be sipping away the water without even noticing it.

2

If the taste of water doesn’t appeal to you, add a teaspoon or less of lemon to it. Try some other fruit juices, too. Just make sure you are still drinking mainly water. Just a splash of juice should be enough to make things interesting and give the water some flavor without adding a lot of sugar and calories.

3

You will probably get bored with drinking just water after a few days. Then change things up a bit. Or you’ll end up drinking ‘bad’ liquids just out of boredom. Try flavored water, they taste awesome most of the times.

4

Drinking flavored water instead of a soda can save you 200 calories. You may sometimes may be craving the fizz of a soda. Try some club sodas. Most brands have a little too much fizz for your taste and you’ll end up watering them down with -oh well- water. Buy flavored club sodas.

5

You do not have to cut coffee from your diet altogether. Instead, you should be drinking two additional glasses of water for every cup of coffee you drink. Take advantage of this little trick!

6

Unfortunately many of us have gotten so out of tune with our bodies that we feel hungry when we are actually thirsty. If you feel hungry, try drinking a glass of water first. You may just be thirsty. This way you will not end up eating extra calories when a glass of water is really all you need.

7

Buy and use a water filter at home. This will improve the quality and taste of your tap water, and lower the bills if you usually consume bottled water.

8

Drinking water just before each meal will make you feel more full, which means you won’t eat quite as much at meals.

9

Try drinking 3 glasses of water at each meal. Drinking water will encourage you to eat less.

10

Keep a log! Really, try it. This can be as simple as a little piece of paper on the fridge, or a page in your day planner. Just make a little checkmark, or dash on the piece of paper every time you drink a glass of water. The log will help you keep track of how much water you have had in any given day. You’ll also be surprised how motivating it is to try to get those eight little checkmarks on there every day. Another idea would be to use little stickers instead.

11

Make sure you drink a few extra glasses of water if you work out, or if you spend some time outside while it’s hot. Your body uses and needs more water when it sweats a lot. So don’t forget to fill back up on water during and after your exercise.

Implement some of these ideas if you don’t get the recommended eight glasses of water a day. Your body will thank you for it in the long run.

Most people are so used to being dehydrated that they mistake signs of thirst with hunger pangs. Instead of getting something to drink, they grab a muffin or a candy bar instead. Drinking water will cut down on snacking.

Things change in a fast pace because we, people/humanity, are still in the learning phase when it comes to food and nutrition. Not all the secrets are revealed yet. Stay with me here, and you are gonna learn one of them.

I am going to let you in on this little secret that most people who want to lose weight quickly do not know about and that is protein can in many ways be considered a fat burning food because it can speed up your metabolism.

Protein just so happens to have the highest thermic effect of any food. This means that the body uses more energy or calories to digest and absorb protein over any other food such as fat and carbohydrates. In fact your metabolic rate can be sped up considerably by as much as 30% simply by eating protein.

This means for every 100 calories of protein foods like salmon and chicken breasts only 70 calories are left over after digesting and processing. So for thinning out ,it is important to eat the right quantities of protein at the right times each and every day, while you are on a balanced diet.

Here is another little secret about protein you may not know about. Just like different carbohydrates have different rates of absorption, proteins do too. For example egg whites are metabolized much faster than red meat. So when trying to lose weight it is important to be focusing on proteins that are metabolized quickly such as chicken, fish and eggs.

So you are probably wondering how much protein you need to eat. The amount of protein that is required is basically determined by several factors like the amount of muscle on your body and how physically active you are.

It has been long known that one of the best weapons for weight loss is water but some people still have not learned the trick. Simply increasing the water you intake from 6-8 glasses per day, will actually help your body in flushing out toxins and harmful constituents that are proving a hindrance the losing that weight. Water also helps speed up the digestion process and is necessary for healthy living.

Health and weight loss benefits of consuming enough water on a daily basis are endless. Plus, you should try your best to drink enough of other fluids. This means you should consume different types, such as green tea, lemon juice, aloe vera juice, skim milk. Because each of them has different nutrients. Liquids are vital because they hydrate the cells in your body and help them in fighting with harmful toxins out of your system more efficiently. Therefore, if most of your intake consists of liquids, such as tea, juice and lots of water, then you are helping your cells to the best of their ability.

Water is essential to our lives. 55-75% of our body consists of water, our blood is 83% water, and our muscles and brain consists of like 75% water. Water provides us with several of the main nutrients that the human body needs. Drinking water is essential to all known forms of life, whether they are plant or animal life. Human body has no capacity to store spare water so we have to replace lost water quickly.

Our bodies use drinking water to digest food in the gastrointestinal tract. Insufficient drinking water will slow the process, resulting in constipation and other medical concerns which may cause you develop excess abdominal fat.

Do you know how long you can survive without drinking water? 3 days at most! This alone says much on the benefits of drinking water.

Drinking Water is a Healthy Way to Lose Weight

Victoria’s Secret models (those angels with glamour wings) and Hollywood stars are among those people who like to take advantage of drinking water for weight loss or weight management. Celeb Miranda Kerr talks about her secrets to health and beauty and guess what her top secret is! Yes, Miranda drinks lots of water in a day and this makes her fit.

Beyonce lost 20 pounds in 10 days while people were eating Krispy Kreme Doughnuts around her. She used detox liquids, ate vegetables and improved her habit of drinking pure water.

Don’t Drink Water and You’ll Get Fat

Most people don’t drink enough water, which means they’re usually dehydrated. When the body isn’t getting enough fluids, it does its best to retain water. The water it stores has to go somewhere, so it tends to get packed away where it creates unflattering bulges on your body – kind of like a camel!

When you consistently drink more water, your body gets the idea that it doesn’t need to store water. If you’re worried about running to the bathroom more often, you’ll be pleased to know that this side effect wears off once your body gets accustomed to having all the water it needs.

Let’s take a look at what water does for your health and how drinking water helps you burn calories and lose weight.

Benefits of Drinking Water

1

Water improves your health in many ways. It helps cleanse your body from waste and toxins, and it improves your skin moisture.

2

It improves the absorption process of vitamins and nutrients. This means better digestion and increased energy levels.

3

Water is your best friend if you are trying to lose weight or maintain your weight. It helps to suppress your hunger. Water is a natural appetite suppressant. This means you can use water to reduce your appetite. Recent study by University of Washington shows that drinking a glass of water reduce nighttime hunger cravings for most of the dieters.

4

It speeds up your metabolism, so you burn more calories than usual. How does drinking water help you burn calories? Your body needs to metabolize stored fat into energy. Your body metabolism can be slowed by even mild levels of dehydration and with a slower metabolism, you burn less calories and you lose weight slowly. If you drink enough water, your metabolism levels increase and with a higher metabolism you burn more calories than usual.

5

Drinking water helps you maintain muscle tone which is one important point of your diet plan.

6

Water helps to prevent the sagging skin which is caused by losing weight. Water plumps the skin cells, giving the skin a younger and healthier look.

7

During weight loss period, your body may produce lots of waste to get rid of because of all that fat. So water is essential to your health while dieting.

How Much Water To Drink A Day

So now you know why water is so essential for your health and weight loss process. Let’s learn how much water should you drink per day?

General rule says that you should drink at least 8 glasses of pure water every day. This amount may change depending on your medical condition. If you are overweight you should drink 1 glass extra for every 20 pounds you carry because the extra weight creates extra metabolic demand. If you are working out you should add 1 glass for every 20 minutes of your workout routine.

You shouldn’t count sodas and coffee in your liquid consumption. 8 or more glasses of water should come in addition to other beverages you drink.

If you are suffering from headaches, dry skin, dizziness or constipation, you may be dehydrated and you should drink at least 8 glasses of pure water every day.

Water has many advantages over the other goods you consume daily. How much water you should drink to lose weight is hopefully well-explained in this article. Don’t underestimate the benefits of water. Consuming enough water will prevent you from getting dehydrated and will stop your body store unwanted fat.

Have your soup

If you really want to cut down your food intake, here is a hint that will work for anyone. Have soup just before starting your lunches and dinners. It only takes a small cup to do the trick. Take care that the soup should not be cream based, instead a broth. Warm soup helps you lose weight by making your stomach feel full sooner. It will actually help you to eat smaller meals.

3

Lower your sodium intake

Salt is another factor that contributes in putting on the weight. Salt is usually found in some of the foods that we think are healthy—frozen dinners, condiments or canned soups. Watch out for the next couple of weeks and read the labels of the foods that you prepare to be aware how much sodium is included in the products that eat. One of the best ways to remove sodium from your foods it to avoid prepackaged foods.

4

Lower your sugar intake

If you reduce your sugar intake, you will definitely reduce your weight. While we do not like to confess it, sugar keeps us overweight. Sugar is not only found in a milkshake or candy bar. It is also being included in the pastas and white breads which are our favorite foods.

To kickstart your weight loss results, try eating vegetables at each meal. Steamed veggies have a diuretic effect, but they give you the energy you need to continue making those great choices.

6

Break that fast

This really works if you have a good and healthy meal at the start of day. Breakfast starts the metabolism roaring and helps you to avoid unnecessary snacking.

7

Spend time for physical exercise

Physical activity should be included in your daily life. Try to promote it and even ask your friends or family members to join you in this. In the longer days of summer try going for a 30 minute walk. Make it a fun activity to which you and friends look forward. Dancing is a fun way to get in that physical activity.

Try, try again till you succeed?

When you fail, try again. Keep on trying. Truly, the only way to fail is to quit trying.

What are Omega 3 Benefits?

Posted by Janis

‘Stay away from fats!’ This used to be the ‘classic’ saying that you’ve heard from weight loss ‘experts’ over the years. But there was one more thing for your ears: You need to add fats into your diet, and those have to be right kind of fats. You’ve probably lost out on the health and weight loss benefits of many ‘good fats’ because you’ve believed in the misconceptions surrounding this topic. Fortunately, things changed. Unless you just bought your computer, television or magazine subscription a few days ago, you’ve probably already heard that essential fats are an important aspect to weight management. Well, what exactly are good fats and why are they called essential?

The term essential in the sciences refers to the fact that a nutrient can not be synthesized by the body, so you must have a dietary or supplemental source to balance your intake of that nutrient. Basically, there are two essential fatty acids and they’ve been referred to as Omega 6 and Omega 3 fatty acids.

Nutrition experts and dietians rave about Omega 3, and top chefs are talking about how to include Omega 3 with every meal. Food market is full of ‘Omega 3 enriched’ products, such as eggs, oils, and dairy. The good news is that you generally get enough Omega 6 in your diet. Omega 3 has presented a question mark to researchers. Are we getting enough or not?

Those fats are essential nutrients for your health. You need them when you cook – not every food can be cooked without fat. You also should improve your intake of fats. Don’t forget that human body needs particular amount of fat daily.

So now we know that those fats should be added in our diet. Important question is how they should be consumed, and what kind of fats are the proper choice.

The best and the most popular choice is Omega 3 oils. Top Omega 3 sources are fish oil and coconut oil.

What is Omega 3?

Omega 3 is an essential fat for human health. It contains two fatty acids that benefit the human body, which are known as DHA and EPA.

Everyone needs Omega 3 oils, normal adults need them to maintain health and prevent disease, older people need it even more to help their immune system fight off disease, and the important part that the oils play in helping to prevent the age related problems and diseases that develop as you get older, it might even improve longevity, but if it doesn’t, it will definitely improve the quality.

There’s no doubt that Omega 3 have tons of health benefits for people and these benefits have been proven by countless clinical researches. Let’s go into (scientific) details! The essential fatty acids in Omega 3 have been known for as many important health benefits. EFA’s are polyunsaturated fats. These fats can’t be made by the human body, so they must be supplied from sources which include them. These fats are required for normal development of the brain, eyes and nerve tissue. Clinical searches also show that Omega 3 benefits come mostly from DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) and EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid). Omega 3 oils provide DHA and EPA in a natural form that your body can easily assimilate.

But, what about weight loss benefits?

Omega 3 and Weight Loss

Studies on Omega 3 have shown that people who consume Omega 3 oils on a daily basis, or who have a diet that is rich in Omega 3 fatty acids have a significant increase in the amount of body fat they’ve burned. Because Omega 3 oils are low in fat and they keep insulin levels in the body low.

Lower insulin levels make the body burn the excess fat and speed the rate of weight loss.

Omega 3 oil can actually speed up the burning of fats in the body and hence aid weight loss. Omega 3 oil serves numerous bodily processes and is particularly beneficial to the immune system and heart as well as arthritis, skin conditions, pre-menstrual tension, mental function, improving memory and reducing depressive symptoms.

Don’t let the phrase essential fat or essential fatty acid fool you. These are not going to make you gain unwanted weight. As those of us who truly understand weight loss and gain can tell you, the key to losing or gaining fat storage from your body centers around the bodies short term energy storage supply.

Benefits of Omega 3

1

Omega 3 improves heart health and reduces the risk of dying from heart diseases. It reduces the risk of cardiovascular disease and heart-related sudden death. It also lowers unhealthy triglyceride levels. The American Heart Association recommends fish oils to help your heart performance as long as you keep your dosage under 3 grams per day, suggesting an amount roughly between 0.5 to 1.8 grams per day.

2

It improves your mood. Omega 3 is also beneficial to your mental health especially if you suffer from psychological disorders like depression.

3

It improves memory and brain function. It has been proven that Omega 3 oils (especially fish oil) stimulate memory and the learn ability. Researches show that if women take supplemental DHA during their pregnancy and lactation, this increases their baby’s IQ.

4

Reduces the risk of developing Altzheimer’s disease. Clinical studies show that fish oil and DHA protect the nervous system in humans.

5

It helps you fight against allergies. Fish oil protects you against the symptoms of hay fever, sinus infections, asthma, certain food allergies and allergic skin conditions like hives and eczema.

6

Reduces rheumatoid arthritis symptoms. Omega 3 reduces the amount of compounds causing inflammation in rheumatoid arthritis and other forms of inflammatory arthritis.

7

It greatly improves eye health. Consuming fish oil is related to lowered risk of developing age related macular degeneration, an increasing common eye disease in people over 50.

8

Reduces PMS Symptoms in women. Omega 3 is converted into substances called ‘prostaglandins type-3′ that control contractions of the uterus, which cause the cramping.

9

Improves skin and hair health. Omega 3 helps to protect the skin against UV exposure damages and skin disorders like psoriasis. It will improve the texture and help prevent age wrinkling and that is by consuming the oil, you don’t have to rub it in to your skin, it really works from within your body. Omega 3 oils are very close to being a miracle as far as the human body is concerned, they are natural, and like Glyconutrients, the sugars that heal, they are essential for good health.

10

Lowers cancer risk. Studies show that Omega 3 lowers the risk of breast cancer and prostate cancer.

11

There are several quick weight loss tips you can start working into your daily routine right now. The best part is, these are easy-to-apply and free. You don’t have to sacrifice your health in order to make these work. To be honest, most people who aim for a successful weight loss need some expert help. This is where pre-designed or personalized diets come in.

We’re hearing more and more sad stories each day from people who are following the wrong diet programs.

When you’re desperate to lose weight, it’s tempting to go on a fad diet that promises dramatic results in weeks or even days. But these trendy diets come with a high cost: You’re likely to gain all that weight back and then some.

Losing weight is one thing. Keeping it off requires changing lifelong habits, and fad diets won’t help in this regard. The best way to begin your weight loss journey is to concentrate on making small changes that improve your overall health. To take this small step, you should know where you are at today. This is what I’d call ‘losing weight naturally’.

1

Asking yourself the right questions about your lifestyle, weight, health and being honest answering them, you will learn what expectations you should have and what goals you should concentrate on.

2

Instead of radically changing your diet, look at what you already eat in a typical day and see where you can improve. Don’t fall for hard workout programs which can cause serious injuries. Avoiding the traps in weight loss ‘industry’ has become harder than it used to be, say 10 years ago.

3

The secret of weight management is so obvious it stares at you every second of every day and if you’re doing this wrong your chance of losing weight, maintaining your ideal weight, getting in shape is non-existent.

Do your research and learn the answers to your questions. What is your body type? What type of healthy eating plan should you set? Which nutrients would be beneficial for your health? How can you work some exercising into your daily routine?

4

A weight loss journal can help in this regard. Journals help you keep records of what foods you consume on a daily basis and how active you can be during the day. It is an eye-opening experience because you will become familiar with your habits. You will begin to pay attention to what foods you are consuming and you will automatically cut back on bad eating habits. Why do you think many people on the internet are blogging about their weight loss journey?

5

You could make an effort to eat more vegetables with each meal. You could train yourself to study food labels and make conscious choices about the sorts of foods you buy from the grocery store. Instead of eliminating the foods you love, try eating smaller portions. See if you can find ways to make your favorite meals healthier. The next time you eat spaghetti, for example, go for whole-grain pasta.

6

You should focus on foods that you will be eating, not the ones you will be avoiding. ‘Don’t eat this, don’t eat that’ can leave a negative impact on your mind.

7

Drinking more water is an excellent way to improve your health, nourish your skin, and lose weight naturally. Keeping your body hydrated means your liver can put more effort into metabolizing fat instead of helping your kidneys do their job. Drinking water also helps you cut back on soda and other calorie-laden drinks.

8

Instead of running yourself to death on a treadmill every day, find easy, gentle ways to increase your physical activity each day. If you exhaust yourself and do exercises that you despise, you’re not going to be motivated to stick with the routine. Instead, find ways to do more walking. Take the stairs instead of the elevator, park further away from the entrance of the store, or take a walk in the park. Buy a pedometer so you can see how many steps you’ve taken each day. Sign up for activities that you actually enjoy, such as dancing or yoga.

9

You should also concentrate on reducing stress in your life. Stress has been shown to mess up your body’s metabolism, making you prone to gain weight even if you restrict the number of calories you consume each day. What’s causing turmoil in your life right now? Whether it’s a job you hate or a bad relationship, do what you can to either improve the situation or remove yourself from it altogether. It also helps to add relaxing activities to your day such as meditation and yoga.

10

Getting an eight-hour sleep every night helps in reducing unwanted fats. You must have noticed that getting a full night of sleep that is undisturbed will give you more energy for the next day and has the added benefit of boosting your metabolism. When you are asleep and resting, your body is much more efficient at processing those calories than when you are simply being a couch potato in front of the television.

Conclusion:

If you want to burn the extra fat in your body, maintain your ideal weight, get in shape for whatever reason, you must apply the famous New York Subway principle. Imagine yourself in the New York Subway. You’d like to know where you’re going, right? Because you don’t want to end up wandering around in a very unpleasant place. So, having a definite goal is a must.

By making small adjustments to your daily routine and making healthier choices, you’ll begin a weight loss journey in the right direction.

It wouldn’t be honest and wise if I tell you that you won’t need expert help during this journey. It’s highly understandable if you want to protect your wallet, especially in these hard times but getting professional help at the right time can be vital to your health and wealth. Do your research and never afraid of asking questions around.

One little weird trick to help you lose weight

fat-burning-diet

Did you hear about this unique weight loss news story of the ‘formerly overweight’ Michigan couple?

Rob and Karen lost over 101 pounds of fat in just a few months by stumbling on this one weird trick that burns fat for 3 full days from just 15 minutes!

Being a fat loss and fitness expert with 10+ years of experience, Rob Poulos have decided to develop his own weight loss program based on this little weird trick. And, it worked!

Fat Burning Furnace became one of the most popular fat loss programs around.

Click here and find all the tricky little details of this couple’s life-changing discovery

Rob says: “With the type of exercise and diet tips I recommend to my Fat Burning Furnace students, you don’t need to give up your life’s pursuits so that you are working out every day, nor do you need to follow a wacky diet you can’t reasonably make a lifestyle out of.”

You should eat 6-8 smaller meals through the day so you can burn the excess body fat.

Nuts

Nuts, such as walnuts, almonds and cashews, are perfectly packed with fiber and good fats, so they make you feel fuller longer. Nuts are absolutely the best friends of a dieter. They’re an excellent source of Vitamin E, which is extremely good for your heart. Plus, many other beneficial nutrients like Omega-3s and selenium can be found in these magical food family.

One ounce of almonds, walnuts or cashews is approximately 160-170 calories.

Good news, it’s so easy to carry nuts in even your handbag so you should forget about all the excuses to not snack between meals.

More good news, nuts rival many fruits when it comes to their antioxidant value. They are right up there with strawberries. They contain a wide variety of helpful antioxidants, and the ‘good’ fat.

Just keep this in moderation because there’s bad news too. Nuts are often sold as salted snacks which disturbs the natural balance. If you consume too much of salted nuts (any kind) you take in a lot of salt. Also, peanuts are heavy in Omega-6 fats that distort Omega 3:6 ratio so eating so much of them cause serious health problems.

Raisins

If I tell you that there is a cholesterol-free, fat-free, low-in-sodium, rich with almost all the vitamin and mineral types alternative to what you snack on every day, what would you say? Can you believe this?

Raisins are amazing because of all these. They include essential vitamins and minerals such as iron, potassium, calcium and B type vitamins. They are a good source of fiber and rich in antioxidants.

Why do you think celebrities and famous bikini models are snacking on these?

Unfortunately, many people are not aware of the benefits of this super food. A quarter cup of sun dried raisins can give you quick energy as raisins are 70% fructose (a natural form of sugar which is easily digested).

Milk

If you don’t consume milk on a daily basis, you should immediately review and revise your nutrition plans. Milk must be on your friend list unless you are lactose-intolerant.

If you are avoiding milk because of lactose intolerance, then again you should search and find the right way to get the health benefits of milk. The most reliable way is to choose lactose-free alternatives, such as cheese, yogurt, lactose-free milk.

Milk was your best friend when growing up, and now it’s one of the best alternatives to satisfy your cravings. It contains essential nutrients including calcium, Vitamin A, D and B12, protein, potassium, riboflavin, niacin and phosphorus, which all make milk an awesome post-workout drink also. Drinking just one glass of milk will help you build stronger bones, will make you feel full and will give you energy.

  • Choose fat-free or low-fat milk.

  • To lower saturated fat and calories, try these 3 types: Reduced fat (2%), low-fat (1%), skim.

  • Ask for your lattes or cappuccinos with skim milk.

  • Instead of water, add fat-free milk to oatmeal and hot cereals.

  • It’s so easy to prepare delicious diet shakes with milk, fruits and a blender!

Yogurt

Being a perfect source of protein, yogurt is one of the healthiest snack foods around. It’s also rich with calcium, potassium, phosphorus, Vitamins B6 and B12, niacin and folic acid. It contains lots of friendly bacteria which are amazingly beneficial to your health. Yogurt will make you feel full longer. It’s a fantastic energy booster.

A 16-ounce cup of yogurt is usually 100-200 calories, it really depends on whether you choose fat-free or low-fat.

Ever tried preparing a dip for fruits or vegetables, using yogurt.

Fruity Dip: Blend 1 ounce vanilla low-fat yogurt with 2 tablespoons of orange juice concentrate (or try lemonade concentrate). Dip fresh fruit pieces, like melon balls, banana slices, berries, peaches and pears.

Veggie Dip: Blend 2 cups of fat-free plain yogurt and 1 envelope buttermilk salad dressing mix. Refrigerate 1 hour. Dip fresh veggies, like carrots, celery, cucumber, and cauliflower.

  • Make the best use of your blender. Prepare fruit-yogurt smoothies for quick and easy snacks.

  • For a quick dessert to stop your sugar cravings, top cut-up fruit with flavored yogurt.

  • Top a baked potato with fat-free or low-fat yogurt.

Fruits

Keeping a bowl of whole fruit in the refrigerator, or on the table can be a small step which leads to a big lifestyle change, a healthier one. We all know that fruit is an indispensable food group to be included in healthy eating plans and most diets. Fruit, such as oranges, bananas and apples, are packed with vitamins (including Vitamin C), minerals, good carbs, fiber and antioxidants. It has natural sugar and also has a lot of other nutrients that go with it.

Fruit is a real energy booster. Plus, they are easy to carry with you! Place an apple in your handbag, and go out without having to worry about what to snack on when at office, school or shopping. A piece of fruit or a cup of berries is usually 80-120 calories, depending on the fruit. Compared to soda or candy, fruit has way less sugar.

Here’s a great snack for you: Cut-up fruit! You can cut them yourself, or buy pre-cut packages of fruit pieces. Pineapples and melons are pretty popular. You can also try whole fresh berries or grapes.

Dried fruits, especially dried peas, also make a great snack. You can carry and store them easily. ¼ cup of dried fruits is equivalent to ½ cup of other fruits. Always keep a package of dried fruit in your bag. Choices are endless, such as apricots, apples, pineapple, prunes.

Berries or kiwi topped with frozen yogurt is a delicious snack food you should try. And, never underestimate the power of good ol’ fresh fruit salads. Mix different types of fruit, such as apples, bananas, pears with acidic fruits like oranges, pineapple, lemon juice so they don’t turn brown.

Fruit kabobs are easy and fun to prepare. Use pineapple chunks, bananas, grapes and berries. Enjoy your creative powers!

Juices

Fruit juices are people’s choice! Because they are tasty and they satisfy hunger like magic. Especially if you are physically active, consume 100% fruit juice to keep from getting dehydrated.

Again, like fruits, alternatives are endless here too. Orange, apple, watermelon are the most popular ones but you can find hundreds of different products in the market.

Instead soda or other sugar-sweetened beverages, work some juice boxes into your snacks. The trick here is to choose 100% fruit juice. There is often very little fruit in those ‘fruit-flavored’ beverages or fruit snacks. Also, frozen juice bars make healthy snack alternatives to high-fat foods and beverages.

Try frozen juice pops and tropical fruit pops. To prepare frozen juice pops, pour fruit juice into small paper cups. Place in the freezer and add a wooden craft stick when partially frozen. When completely frozen, peel away the paper. For tropical fruit pops, blend banana, crushed pineapple, strawberries and low-fat vanilla yogurt. Pour into paper cups and freeze like the frozen juice pops.

Bonus tip: Keep this in mind. You should keep fruits seperate from poultry, raw meat and seafood while shopping, preparing, or storing.

Remember that, we are carving for snacks more often when we are on a diet. Does it seem like you can’t get enough to eat between meals? It’s because your stomach isn’t as large as it used be and you don’t eat enough at each meal to last all the way to the next meal. Welcome back to your childhood! This may be surprising to you, but this is the way diets work and there’s nothing wrong with it. After all, you should eat 6-8 smaller meals through the day so you can burn the excess body fat.

Next time you need to re-fuel, remember these alternatives. You have many healthy snack choices so you’ll never get bored. Make a list of super foods we’ve shown you here and stick it into your refrigerator, or pack it in your handbag. Call it healthy snacks list, healthy snacks to lose weight, or weight loss snacks. You’ll see it works like charm.

If you’re inclined to winter weight gain, you’re not alone. Weight gain during winter is a common problem and it’s not all because of what we eat during holiday seasons. Every winter we add a few pounds which may result in obesity in the long run. And when summer comes, we don’t lose those extra pounds all again either. We can hide an excess belly fat under winter clothing, but the ugly truth will be revealed out when we put on those spring fashions.

It’s really bad news that weight gained over the winter season is not lost during the rest of the year. Effects of yearly weight gain during winter is likely the major contributor to the significant increase in body weight that occurs during adulthood.

In addition to being less active, we tend adopt a less healthy diet and eat more when the weather is cold. We want to eat as much as often as possible during the food scarce winter days. Did you know that this is because we have a genetic disposition to store more fat as weather gets cold? It was vital to survival for our ancestors, but for us?

Another contributing factor is our hormone levels and it’s no joke. Hormones and other chemicals in the brain interact with each other and this may bring about variations in appetite and cravings. Add the lack of daylight to this. People who feel low in energy are tend to overeat or eat the wrong foods that give us a fast blood sugar ‘fix’. This is a vicious cycle and it’s hard to break it, right?

What can you do to avoid winter weight gain which makes you a little heavier every year? Work these useful tricks to your daily life and you’ll be able to get surprising results.

1

Soups and stews that are rich with tomato and broth should be added to your meals. Vegetable stews are low in sodium. Tomato or broth soup eaten as an appetizer can fill you up so you eat fewer calories during the meal.

2

Eat lots of lean protein so you can feel full and satisfied. Modify your meals with soy protein products. Here is how!

3

Add water to your friend list. Drink plenty of water between meals and at meals.

4

Limit portion sizes but remember that portion control is beneficial only if you eat the right foods.

5

You should use only lean meats in soups, casseroles and other dishes.

6

If you are using high fat ingredients in your recipes to add more flavor to your meals, you are on the wrong way. Replace those ingredients with spices and peppers.

7

People tend to consume more milk-based products in winter season. Use low-fat or fat-free ones. You can use these instead of cream in recipes also.

8

Instead of whole egg in a recipe, use two egg whites.

9

Simplified menus and limited food choices can make the process easier. Because this way you are not tempted to eat everything.

10

It’s vital to balance consuming of comfort foods. Be picky and use only the healthy recipes.

11

Stick to your routine in this high-risk season. If you eat more than you need one day, then get your diet plans right back on track the next day.

12

Not all high carb foods are wrong foods. If your body craves for cookies, pies and chocolate, eat potatoes, wholegrain bread (without butter), wholegrain rice, cereals, and fresh whole fruit. Results may surprise you! These foods are high carb ones but they have low fat content and plenty of fiber.

13

30 minutes of physical activity each day will help you boost your metabolism. You don’t need a fitness club membership for this. There are plenty of good home workout programs out there.

14

We have a tendency to want to stay home and rest in these cold days, but come on we are not cavemen! Take a walk outside to give your body a chance to produce vitamin D. Natural sunlight is what you need.

15

Do not miss chances to burn extra calories. Going up a floor or two? Take the stairs instead of the elevator.

Winter weight gain is easily avoidable this way. Remember that, it’s easier to keep your weight stable and maintain it than to lose weight.

Are you following a workout program for muscle building? Have your muscles stopped growing after a few months even you’re still going on to workout hard? Be sure that this is a common problem lots of bodybuilders have and wonder about.

Muscle building is not rocket science, however it can be confusing most times. You should care about key facts that will create the difference between building muscle or being skinny. Here are some reasons why your muscles don’t grow anymore and how to get them to grow again.

1

You workout too hard: You should know that you are breaking your muscles when you train them in an intensive way. When you force and damage them, they need to recover from damages. You should train each muscle as it gets.

2

You workout too long: You should regulate your workout time rightly. You should have a regular muscle building program of course, but don’t overdo and be smart on how many hours you are working out. One hour is good for your muscles. 45 minutes is better. Your cortisol level increase after 45 minutes of intensive training. This stress hormone destroys muscle cells.

3

You are under stressful situations: Cortisol is produced by your body when you’re placing stress on your body and mind. Mental, physical or emotional… any type of stress will trigger cortisol hormones. Calm down and stop whatever you’re doing. Read a book, watch funny movies, take a walk. Take a little break from your exercise routine, if necessary.

4

I’m Not A Celebrity. Can I Still Get My

Body Back?

Having a new baby is a great feeling. However pregnancy brings along not just the baby, but huge body fat especially around belly area. Many women want to get pregnant but they’re afraid of not being able to lose ‘baby fat’ after.

It’s no secret that both pregnancy and labor affect a woman’s body. During a normal pregnancy period, average women gain 20 to 35 pounds. After giving birth mother throws 10-15 pounds of that fat from her body and a little more as body fluid levels decrease. And still there’s 10 to 25 pounds of extra fat that she needs to burn.

Losing weight after having a baby can't be that hard

So next step for the newly mother would be to burn that baby fat and tone that mommy belly. It’s one of the hardest tasks a woman may have in her life. Postpartum period is already tough times. It can be beautiful, exciting, emotional, stressful, and tiring all at once. Trying to be the perfect mom and going through all this whirlwind of mixed feelings may cause moms to overeat. Or not eat enough…

Be good to yourself and it helps you cope with your feelings. Try to create time and space for yourself. Get enough sleep (even it’s the most difficult thing in your new life), rent a funny movie or better a chick flick and laugh or cry watching it. Remember that pregnancy and birth are miracles. So be proud of yourself. Invite people whose company you like the most to visit your new baby and chit chat with them. There may be social groups outside in your area, that you and your newborn can join. You may consider exploring them and meeting other new moms.

Your body needs some time to recover after carrying your baby for 9 months. Remember, patience. Assuming you already set realistic goals to lose and control your weight and motivated yourself to be positive all the way, all you should do is eating healthy foods and having physical activities now. You already learnt how to eat carefully and healthfully when you are pregnant.

Do not restrict calories at a high level because you’ll need extra calories to produce breast milk. Breastfeeding is also one good way to burn calories. A new mother who breastfeeds her baby produces an average output of 850ml of breast milk each day. Mother needs to consume about 500 extra calories per day during breastfeeding to generate this amount of breast milk.

Do not push yourself too much. Expect to lose 1 or 2 pounds per week (especially if you’re not following a special diet and workout program which is designed for specific needs of new moms). It usually takes up to 5 or 6 months for your body to get back to its pre-pregnancy shape. And generally it takes 6 to 12 months to achieve the total weight loss goal after pregnancy.

For the first 3 months, focus on eating healthy foods with enough calories and nutrient-rich power foods as they give you the energy for taking care of your baby and protect you from gaining more weight. Stock your kitchen with powerful healthy foods such as fruits and vegetables. Consume protein, calcium and iron especially if you are breastfeeding. Snacks, like nuts (not salted or processed), will be there to your aid when you feel the urge to eat something. Several smaller meals spread through the day are better than 2 or 3 large meals. And don’t starve yourself. This wouldn’t be good for your baby.

Most effective way to lose pregnancy weight is exercising. It’s difficult to lose weight without exercise. A good mother would eat healthier for her baby anyway when breastfeeding but exercising is an extra fact. So you should have a good exercise plan. But don’t push your body for first times when you are working out. Start with slow and easy activities like walking around the park with your baby and adjust yourself to exercise. Most of the times you should workout at your home so you won’t have to leave your baby alone. After a while increase your exercise level and do more professional-like exercise activities.
